"Farrand Cecilian" vs. "Bush & Lane Cecilian"
By Dan Kerl

I really appreciate Dean Randall's description of the Bush & Lane
action, since it describes the piano that I need to finish restoring.
The only difference that I can see between mine and the web page is
that the pneumatic "modules" are somewhat narrower and arranged in two
rows instead of three.

I was able to rebuild the pneumatics in the early seventies with no
experience. Even though this instrument had spent its life in the
sulfur-dioxide-laden atmosphere of a steel town (Birmingham AL), the
die castings were, for the most part, in good condition. The manifold
rail gaskets were not available at the time, so I used this as an
excuse to no work on it after all this time. I notice that Player
Piano Co., has these gaskets available so there goes that excuse :)

Actually, I'd also like to thank this group and thank Art Reblitz for
his books. You have managed to engage my enthusiasm once again.
