Hi Folks,  I am preparing to rebuild the pneumatics in my Schulz
upright.  The machine was rebuilt completely in the mid 'sixties between
the first and second owners (my family).  The only failed parts are the
pouch and secondary pneumatic coverings.  Although the valves appear to
be in great shape, I will probably replace then.

What is the best pouch material available for the primaries?  Are the
'new complete valves' available from Player Piano Co. made from solid
fibre better than rebuilding the originals?  How can I remove the bottom
boards without destroying them?

The secondary valve (plus tracker and air motor) pneumatic coverings
have failed at most folds.  Is this due to the covering techniques
(the hard folds) or just normal wear due to age and material?

The three stacks are now held together with gaskets and screws.  Is this
a result of the sixties rebuild?  I had read that these stacks were all
glued, but this may have referred to the valve boards.
