Unisolo Piano Rolls
By Bryan Cather

In today's mail came two piano rolls I won on eBay auction. I have
never run across this brand before, so I'm turning to the MMD to see
if anyone can shed some light on them.

The brand is Unisolo. They are # 45349, "Over There", by Cohan, played
by Gilbert and Carroll, and # 45357, "I May Be Gone For a Long Long
Time", by Von Tilzer, played by Milton Delcamp. There are no flange
markings, and the perforations are circular, rather than slotted.

The boxes are black: one is "alligator skin", the other is embossed with
a repeated torch and laurel design. The paper is lower than average
quality, but not horrible. Also, there is an expression line, but no
words.

Before I saw these on eBay, I had never heard of Unisolo. Perhaps they
were a department store brand, or an "economy" or "companion" label for
some other brand. As I say, they're completely new to me, so any
information about them will be gladly received

I am also sending a scanned image of the label, under a separate
heading.

Regards,

Bryan Cather

[ Could Unisolo be related to Rythmodik and/or Ampico? Both Adam
[ Carroll and Milton Delcamp were Ampico artists in the 1920s.
