I very much doubt it.  The speed of the moving paper is so slow that
it will be portrayed faithfully even in early 16 fps movies.  On a
close-up of a very fast moving roll with lots of closely spaced holes
you might see odd aliasing effects on some groups of holes.  There is
no way that the paper would move fast enough to give an overall
impression of movement in the wrong direction.
