Player Mechanism in a Drawer
By Berley Firmin

Hello all: I received a call today from a guy who wants to sell a baby
grand with what he says is a player mechanism in a drawer. Before I see
it, he has to move a mountain of boxes in the storage unit. The maker
is Francis Connor. All I know is that it isn't a Duo-Art, thus could
it be an Ampico or a Welte, or Recordo?

The owner is descended from the owners of New Yorker and Schwab Pianos,
or Schwab Pianos and Francis Connor of New York. I see from Pierce
Piano Atlas that the offices were moved to New Orleans (where we are).

Does anyone know what mechanism could this be? He wants to sell the
piano from the estate and I have no idea what the value is. He is
thinking thousands of dollars!
