MIDI to Pianocorder Software
By Al Pebworth

Hello Galen, I have a program that is dated July 1996, and was written
by Mark A. Fontana that converts a MIDI file to a special *.pcd file
and/or a *.wav file for the Pianocorder.

I just attempted to go to his web page, and it is no longer working.
I do not know if there are other programs available, but if there are,
I ask that MMD members with that knowledge please post some
information.

I have this one program, and I could send it to anyone who is
interested.

[ Mark Fontana developed the shareware DOS software program, named
[ MIDI2PC, while he was studying at Ohio State University. It
[ accepts standard MIDI files of piano music as input and produces
[ an output WAV file which is then transferred to an ordinary Philips
[ tape cassette for playback in the Pianocorder.
 [
[ The *.pcd file is an alternate compact file format used to store the
[ contents of one Pianocorder cassette as a disk file. The details
[ are in Mark's article in 960721 MMD, "MIDI to Pianocorder Software",
[ and at his new web site, http://www.mninter.net/~mfontana/
