Pianocorder Vorsetzer Repairs
By Dave Brown

This is a follow up of my posting back in December, MMD 1999.12.18,
when my wife and I purchased a Marantz Vorsetzer at eBay auction.

We paid $500 in none-working condition. Then we traveled from our home
in Michigan to Tennessee, near Nashville, to pick it up. After getting
home it was set up and didn't operate; no surprise there.

I remembered seeing in an earlier post that Carl Meyer did repairs on
Pianocorders. I called him, and with his instructions and my pocket
voltmeter, it was determined there was a problem in the 5 volt power
supply. It was also decided that all the electronics, including the
tape player, would be sent, for testing and piece of mind.

After a short time Carl repaired the problem, also modifying the sustain
pedal circuit as he described in his posting in MMD 99.10.18, which
works as advertised.

I would like to publicly thank him for the great work. Our Vorsetzer
now works great and we both are very pleased with the way it performs.
Now to get the piano it operates tuned, then everything will be great.
