Hello Again All,  After all the inputs from MMD readers (which I
passed along to the Fairfax County Senior Citizens Center that has the
Lindner piano), they have decided it is not worth trying to repair the
piano.  It can be had for free if anyone is interested in moving it.

The Center is located in Springfield, Virginia, and  the person to
