Modernizing 1850 Tracker Organ
By Tom Gregory

Greetings: May I offer my humble opinion regarding "modernizing"
a pedal board on an 1850 tracker: *Please don't!* Although the
builder of this instrument is not given, we must assume that an
instrument of this age must have historical value.

Having served in churches for nearly 40 years I have adjusted to pedal
boards ranging from 11 note Hammond spinets, to flat, concave,
radiating and AGO standard. With practice and proper choice of
literature these old instruments are both a delight to hear and play.

Please check with the OHS (Organ Historical Society) regarding guide
lines for instrument preservation and restoration.

Sincerely,

Tom Gregory

P.S.: I am not writing this as a "tracker backer". I play on a
1926 E.M. Skinner and love each and every celeste and solo stop.

[ be no useful data, only glossy images. -- Robbie
