I recently saw some reed pipes, probably Vox, that had graduated boots
for resonators, as opposed to the tops of the pipe.  I have pictures of
these pipes which are most unusual; email me if you would like to see
the pictures.

The longest bass was about 3 feet and the shortest was about 8 inches.
The tops are almost all the same size.   They were made by Wicks and
were in an organ that one could buy for slightly over $1000, including
a newer large blower and newer action power supply; 11 ranks.  Located
in Ft. Bragg, CA.

Speaking of free reeds, the Alexander and Pils harmonium I bought has
a small rounded hammer the size of a dime that hits the reed to knock
it into its full swing.  It gives a prompt speech to the organ that is
sometimes needed on reed organs.
