Actually there are several reproductions of original nickelodeon pianos
that have no notice in them that they are reproductions.  I personally
know of a couple of Seeburg H's, Coinola SO's, Coinola CO's and some
others.

It has been a large practice in the past to convert Seeburg K's
into KT's.  No notice is in these machines, I guess because the restorer
or rebuilder or whatever didn't think it would ever be a problem.  But
now that the topic has come up, in fifty years from now who but an
expert will be able to tell the difference between new wood and older
wood.

I agree that any reproduction should have a label or stamping in the
product to identify its origin.  The Encore Banjo replicas make no
mention in them that they are reproductions.  One rumor has it that
the early replicas were made from old parts but this is not true.
