9' Concert Grand Piano Case for Theater Use
By D. L. Bullock

In response to the theater company looking for a gutted 9' concert
grand case. I do not think you will find one. A concert grand is
worth way too much for anyone to gut. Even if the plate cracked, it
would be well worth the extra cost to have a copy specially cast to
put it into good condition again. A friend has had this happen and I
will eventually talk him into doing just that. It is a Steinway, by
the way. Any company that made a concert grand had to make it of high
enough quality to endure concert use and abuse. Restored, it will
bring $50,000.00 in the blink of an eye and more if it sounds
especially good.

Have your theater company build a prop piano. It is something that
can be used over and over. OR... It could be made using spare parts
or temporarily borrowed parts from any grand. The parts may be
returned to the original piano after the show. I am thinking legs
music desk, etc.
