Locate 78 RPM Recording "Peter" by The Ramblers
By Keith Pritchett

Further to the posting from Reg Smith of 00.05.07

I have not got the information to hand, but there is a current
connection with Mechanical Music.(Asuming we are talking about the same
Ramblers)

The Ramblers were a dance band from Holland starting in the 1920's, and
continued to the 1960's.

The connection is that on the CD of the 90 key street organ "De
Ruisdael" issued last year, there is a medley of Ramblers tunes. I
think the book is by Tom Meyer.

If the information about the 78 RPM record is not forthcoming, I know a
man who will have the information (he's not on the net) but it will take
a little time to get it from him. He produces a three hour programme
each week of restored 78 RPM records (with a few additions of recent
recordings from that era), and broadcast in the North of England. He
often plays the Ramblers, as well as some recordings of mechanical
music. Maybe you could mail me direct Reg if you want me to try him.
