Musical Instrument Museums in Italy
By Bill Klinger

Hello List: I visited the Musical Instrument Museum in Rome in 1992.
They did everything to discourage me from purchasing a ticket to enter
except close the door. Most of the collection was not accessible and
some of the rooms had ropes across the door. A guy followed me around
and would not even let me look in the rooms with the roped doors.
Nothing was playing.

This spring I was in Southern Italy and saw an advertisement for
a Musical Instrument Museum somewhere on the north side of Reggio
Calabria. I asked directions (I was in the Reggio Calabria regional
museum.) They were not too sure where it was but the usual waving of
hands and pointing north made me loose interest in going on a wild
goose chase. It is there somewhere.

I enjoyed the collection at the Deutches Museum in Munich also in 1992.
