Music Boxes & TV Program "Dark Shadows"
By Randy Hayno

I wonder how many other music box fans are also "Dark Shadows" TV
program fans? In the popular series there was a music box that
Barnabus Collins gave to Josette. The music box showed up throughout
the series. I have heard tell that it had been reproduced for sale
to fans, but I don't know of any.

Funny thing, the first time it showed up was in 1797, just two years
after the music box was invented and I doubt that it had been perfected
to that extent.

But that was the charm of the show -- nothing was ever correct, or even
close. You could often see them forget their lines and look over at
cue cards, or hear someone helping them in the background. I really
love watching the reruns on the Sci Fi channel, and wonder if anyone
else is watching.

In the movie "House of Dark Shadows" I believe there is an Aeolian
player pipe organ in the house they used for that movie, but they don't
play it unfortunately.
