Electric Magnet Valves for Small Organ
By Harald Mueller

Hello -- after reading the MMD for a long time, I have my first
question.

I want to buy (or have me built) a new organ, most probably to
Mr. Alderman's 26-tone scale, with paper-strip control. However, in
addition to that, I want electronic control from a computer. Here,
I plan the (in my opinion) simplest form:

Each tube to the tracker bar also goes to an electro-magnetic valve
which is operated by a "MIDI-to-many note specific wires" electronic
board. There is a company (I think called jwelectronics) in the UK that
sells such boards, but maybe there are others. The questions I have:

a. Is all that a good idea? Has anyone experience with a similar setup?

b. Does anyone know where to get valves for this? Could I risk building
them myself (I am quite a good general metal- and wood-worker, but have
no special experience with organ valves or organs at all, for that
matter).

c. Does anyone know of other "MIDI-to-many-wires" boards?

Thanks a lot

Harald M. Mueller
