J. Lawrence Cook and Milt Hinton
By Mike Meddings

The site has been updated with some pretty interesting information.
Most of it concerns the J. Lawrence Cook page, with the fullest
possible details of some 78 rpm and LP records. Amazingly, on the LP
record, his music rolls are accompanied by Milton Hilton, Tony Mottola,
George Duvivier and Osie Johnson. Thanks to MMD member Alan Wallace
for details of the records, which are from his collection of J.
Lawrence Cook memorabilia.

The Jelly Roll Morton page has been updated with a picture of Trinity
Baptist Church, 114 N. 5th Street, Camden, NJ. This was the Victor
Talking Machine Co. recording studios. Victor purchased the church
in February 1916 and they originally intended it to be used for storage
purposes. However, with its fine acoustic qualities, and the pipe
organ present in the building, the church was converted to a recording
studio. Morton recorded there in early July 1929.

Musically yours
