I just came across this listing for an old record on eBay auction:

   "Welte Legacy of Piano Treasures -- Scriabin
   performs his own compositions in 1905,
   Poushnoff performs circa 1920.  LP Recorded
   Treasures Label 681 Stereo 19??  M/M Sealed!

   I guess they hook up this machine to the piano
   and it figures out from notes on an Edison Cylinder
   and recreates the music!"

The truth has come to light and the controversy can at last be laid
to rest!
