Straightening Duo-Art Airmotor Crankshaft
By Spencer Chase

Many duo-art wind motor crankshafts are out of alignment and rebuilding
the motor necessitates straightening them. It is a tedious procedure,
but they can be put back to original condition (and must be, for the
motor to work smoothly).

The best way is to chuck one end in the lathe and carefully work toward
the other end, making minor bends to keep the journals parallel to the
rotation axis. Then reverse the crankshaft and check it from the other
end.
