"They All Played Ragtime" Phono Recording
By Steve Walker

Hi All, I have just acquired an interesting 78-rpm record.
The label reads:

Alfred A. Knopf Inc. Presentation Record,
   They All Played Ragtime,
Recorded from a 1907 Piano Roll:
Maple Leaf Rag, Ragtime's Classic Hit of 1899,
Played by the composer, Scott Joplin

I am sure there is a connection between this record and the 1950 book,
"They All Played Ragtime", also published by Alfred A. Knopf.

Does anyone know if this record was included in the sale of the book?
Or was it sent to dealers that sold the books? Anyone have any clues?
