Western Player Action Co. May Be Western Electric
By D. L. Bullock

Claude Oesterreicher wanted to know about a Western Action Player Co.
where his grandfather had possibly worked.

The only Western company I can find in the Piano Atlas is the Western
Electric Piano Co. est. 1924, formerly A. F. Larson Piano Co. Chicago
ILL (also made Selectra, Mascot, Derby and Autophone.) Also coin
operated pianos.

Also listed in Atlas: Derby, Western Electric 832 Blackhawk, Chicago,
(Novelty Piano) coin operated

I suggest you look up all these names in the Encyclopedia of Automatic
Musical Instruments by Q David Bowers which should be available in your
local library. You can buy a copy for 90-something dollars from Marty
Roenigk who is a member of this list.
