Wilcox & White "Pneumatic Symphony" Music Rolls
By Houston Maples

In MMD 020217 Adam Ramet wrote about the similarity of the Wilcox &
White organ rolls to the Aeolian 46-note Aeolian organ rolls.

Wilcox & White "Pneumatic Symphony" rolls are 44-note rolls. They are
quite similar to the Aeolian 46ers except, of course, the bottom two
notes are missing. Otherwise they are set up to the same scale as
Aeolian and are spaced the same.

With a little fiddling (which includes reversing the spooling and
modifying the drive socket for the pins) they can be made to play on
the Aeolian organ. The physical aspects common to the two types of
rolls suggests they might have been produced by the same factory.
