exist in the USA?

 [ expect the marketing departments of musical instrument manufacturers
 [ would claim to know this, but I'm not sure I'd trust that source
 [ anyway.   Statistical sampling would be valuable if done correctly.

 [ What might be very interesting is to find out what percentage of
 [ whole house moves involve a piano.  I suspect that the moving van
 [ companies track this.  This probably self-selects for a middle class
 [ cross section, but it might also help to identify how many abandoned
 [ tall uprights there are in people's basements   ;-)
