MBSGB Publishes "The Organette Book"
By Paul Bellamy

Monkey Business and the hand-cranked organ.

Please don't forget we Brits who have another name for the hand-cranked
little organ: the busker's organ! It is still the 'done thing' to play
these in the street with a stuffed monkey toy to avoid the usual
question: "Where's the monkey?"

 [ I shall add "busker's organ" -- a nice descriptive term, indeed --
[ to the list. -- Robbie

Whilst on the subject of little mechanical organs, The Musical Box
Society of Great Britain is about to publish a very limited edition
called The Organette Book. Over 400 pages and some 600+ illustrations,
many in colour, depicting over 550 different types of reed-playing
small organs. This will be available about June this year at GBP 35
plus post and packing to all members of the MBSGB. After that, it
will be on offer to sister societies at about GBP 50 plus postage and
packaging (price yet to be finalised).

Any one interested in reserving their copy can contact me,
Paul Bellamy <bellamypaul@netscapeonline.co.uk> or
Kevin Mcelhone <kevin_mcelhone@hotmail.com> for further details.
For non-MBSGB members located it the USA or who are associated with
the American mechanical music societies, we expect to have an agent
in the USA whilst these limited stocks last.
