Player Piano Headquarters of Boonton, NJ
By Ed Chaban

Does anyone remember a man named Ted who had a player rebuilding shop
in Boonton, New Jersey? I never knew his last name, but I recall going
to his shop when I was first learning how to rebuild players to buy
pneumatic cloth and get tips on rebuilding.

He was a wonderfully eccentric old fellow who would talk your ear off.
He was one of those people who seemed to care more about the hobby and
the instruments than making a wad of cash. He also seemed to want to
make sure that his craft would not end up dying and took a genuine joy
in teaching what he knew.

I understand he passed away 10 years ago or so. I got my first listen
of a working Ampico in his shop. From then on, I was hooked!
