Hi All,  This is a topic that has interested me since I was a small
child.  I gravitated towards music over sports, friends, riding my
bike, and a host of other activities.  Perhaps it was because my mother
played the piano every day, even while she was pregnant with me and my
four other siblings.

Exactly why music has the effect that it does on people may never be
known.  I like to think it has something to do with God and His Angels.
Nature is full of music -- if we listen: the whistling of the wind
through the trees, the songs of the birds, and the hundreds, if not
hundreds of thousands of other sounds that fill our lives with
intangible beauty.

In my humble opinion, there is no such thing as "bad music".  In fact,
to me, the term 'bad music' is an oxymoron.  Whether or not you enjoy
a particular piece of music is simply a matter of personal taste, and
everyone has different tastes.

Summing it all up, people enjoy music because music is an integral
part of life on Earth.  We are surrounded by sounds that run the gamut
from extremely harsh to extremely soothing.  Language itself is a form
of music, and we are exposed to it from the time the first brain cells
start developing while we are still in the womb.  Is it possible to
hate all kinds of music?  Personally, I don't think that's even
remotely possible.
