M. Schulz Co. "Tuner's and Repairman's Manual"
By Gary Stevenson

I recently read Allen Moe's MMD installment relating to the Schultz
Valve and thought I would offer a little vintage information that I
have to his cause. Allen wrote: "I am working on a Schulz stack at
the moment and I am having a very hard time getting the valves to
seat on their lower seats except under extreme vacuum, at which time
they work just fine."

As many might already know I am a nut for journals and manuals and
other publications relating to mechanical music. It just so happens
I have a copy of a vintage manual from the M. Schulze Co. (1922).
The title page of this 32 page manual reads: "Tuner's and Repairman's
Manual for the Care and Adjustment of the M. Schulze Co. Player Piano
Mechanism (copyright 1922)". I have scanned copies of the only pages
from it that relate to the valves. See attachments.

I hope it helps,
