Makers of Band Organ Facades and Carvings
By Matthew Caulfield

In my posting to MMD 020403 on facade makers I mentioned Paul Dyer
<pauldyer@juno.com> having a band organ facade for sale, but what
I didn't know is that Paul regularly builds band organ facades and
right now has two Wurlitzer 153 facades in stock.

I also received a note from M. Skip Doyle, who handles sales for
the Stinson Band Organ Company, correcting my information about their
facades. Skip writes in part, "Stinson band organ facades number more
than 15 designs, of which only a couple of the smaller configuration
are now being cast. Stinson band organ facades incorporate some cast
components in situations whereby hand carvings are not economically or
practically feasible, while the vast majority of Stinson's band organ
facades are high grade wooden fabrications ..."

Skip indicates that the factory is booked up now with organ production,
MIDI installations, and maintenance work, but is interested in
accommodating facade orders whenever possible.
