PowerRoll Delivery Status
By Glenn Thomas

In response to Spencer Chase's posting, my experience is similar.
I ordered and paid Larry Broadmoore for a PowerRoll in January, 1999.
During the first two years of waiting, Larry and I would have quarterly
exchanges where I expressed concern and he always had excuses and
plausible reasons why I still had to wait "just another month or two."
During the third year, our exchanges grew less frequent and more
exasperating. Although I have always supported Larry and his concept,
I too feel like I have been deceived and unfortunately will probably
never see the PowerRoll or return of my investment.

Now it's time to move on. As a strong believer in the concept, I'm
actively looking at and considering alternatives. I'm considering the
QRS Pianomation Playola, the forthcoming unit by Spencer Chase and Gene
Gerety, and the Don Dusenbury Vorsetzer. My motivation is to be
able to play electronic scans of rolls as well as MIDI files with as
little alteration to a piano as possible. I'm open to other ideas.

As an owner of an extensive collection of reproducing players,
coin-operated pianos, and rolls, I also want to embrace the next level
of player technology while still enjoying the heritage of the previous
generation!
