Wurlitzer Pianino
By Don Teach

I have had several Wurlitzer Pianino's over the years and still
have one that I treasure. I kept a violin & flute model that plays
the five-tune roll. I wish I had some rolls for this machine as
it sits unrestored until I find some more rolls.

In the past thirty plus years of collecting I have never seen or
heard of a Wurlitzer Pianino with a factory installed percussion
device. Dave Ramey used to add a wood block to some Pianinos,
as did many other restorers over the years: they'd add various
components to nickelodeons.

A lot of Seeburg K models, for example, have had the percussion
instruments added to make a KT from a K model. Some of these
conversions are impossible to tell from a factory modification.
It has also been speculated that Seeburg also took machines back
to the factory and converted them.
