Seek Play-a-Sax Parts
By Spencer Chase

Inspired by the beautiful music my Play A Sax is now making with Ed
Schmidt's rolls, I am considering restoring my second one. It has
the usual destroyed bottom gear case piece.

If there is enough interest, I would make a mold from the one that
I have which is perfect and make wax models for investment casting.
I have some silicone mold making material that is about to expire and
I might as well use it. This is not a high priority project and I may
never actually make the castings but I might as well take the impression
and make the wax pieces. The cast pieces will have to be drilled and
fitted with the original gear parts.

If there is a large response (doubtful) I might even see what a small
run foundry would charge for doing the casting. My furnace is buried
and might never be brought to life again. I could probably provide the
wax parts for about $25 each.

To keep communication minimal, I will only reply to interested parties
if there are enough to make this worthwhile.
