Today's Market for Piano Rolls
By Ed Chaban

Okay, "Where's the beef?" I've heard enough from grizzled veterans
that their mechanical perforators are fast enough and why a laser
cutter won't help. If what they say is true then the questions
remain:

Where are the rolls? Why don't you produce products we want to buy?
Why is there a dearth of good recuts in the marketplace?

Ed Chaban

[ Let's test the market, Ed, with a small survey. Send a list to
[ MMD of 12 rolls you'd like to have recut, and invite MMDers to
[ reply to you (1) if they would pay, for example, 12 US$ per roll
[ for a good quality recut, and (2) if they would buy the tunes
[ on your list. Hopefully we'll determine if there really is a
[ viable "market for beef!" :-) -- Robbie
