Automotive Rubber Tubing
By Dot Schlegel

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

In response to the use of automotive rubber tubing, I have used same
on my player piano back in 1991 and here it is 2002 and my piano still
works beautifully (I play my piano every week and often).

The new tubing was definitely an improvement from the corroded dried up
original tubing that had begun to crack to the point the player did not
play. Substitutions do work as well, if not better, than some of that
purchased from a supplier. I wouldn't trade my 10-cents-a-foot tubing
for anything else, and the size and fit were perfect and a repairman of
pianos once told me it was as good a substitute as any. To each their
own, and automotive tubing has my vote.

P.S. I enjoy this MMD and have learned from it.
