AMICA Convention 2002 in Springdale, Arkansas
By Ron Bopp

While all of the player piano discussion is going on this week I
thought it would be nice to let readers of the MMD newsletter group
know that the AMICA convention is progressing well in Springdale,
Arkansas.

We have 170 attendees who enjoyed a mini-organ rally and hillbilly
welcome on Wednesday, a great trip to Eureka Springs and Marty and
Elise Roenigk's Crescent Hotel yesterday, and a concert by Clark
Buehling and the Skirtlifters last night. Today, after the annual
business meeting, we will go to Joplin, MO, and tour Gerold and Linda
Koehler's "Longbranch Saloon", an extensive collection of mechanical
music and other eclectic items. Then tonight we have the long-awaited
Pumper Contest, tomorrow the workshops and mart, and then we finish up
with a dinner dance and music provided by the Jack Mitchell Band.

Just thought you would like to know what 170 AMICAn's (and many MMDers)
are doing this week.
