I am in the process of replacing dampers and find that the new damper
heads for dampers 26 and up (Knabe upright) are much thinner and
smaller than the originals.

Do I use the new damper heads and bend the damper wire accordingly,
or do I remove the old damper felts from the old damper heads and
glue on new damper felts?  Any help would be appreciated.
