Has anybody out there tested "Digital Ear" from Epinosis Software ?
Demo version available at http://www.digital-ear.com/

They claim to "accurately recognize the pitch of a variety of real
world sounds and instruments", transforming a monophonic wave file to
MIDI (recordings of solo performances, one note at time, no chords,
with relatively free of background noise).

Cheers!

[ They certainly are promoting their free demonstration (4.2 Mb) --
[ it is available for download at no less than 23 different web sites.
[ Other products at http://epinoisis.com/products.htm seem to be
[ directed to "window shoppers". -- Robbie
