The last few posting regarding the Aeolian 58-note scale reminded
me of a query I have.  In the early adverts for Aeolians they
advertised Aeolian Pipe Organs and also Aeolian Pipe Orchestras.
Pre-1906 (when the 116-note version was introduced) all Aeolian
organs all played the same 58-note rolls.

Now, what on earth was an Aeolian Pipe Orchestra?  One old advert
depicts one built for a hotel.  It had a huge wooden panelled facade
presumably custom made to match its surroundings with no visible
pipework unlike the pipe organ installations.  Was it just an Aeolian
pipe organ with a different brasher type of voicing?  Anyone know
anything definite about these?  Anything at all, however small you
might think the information is!
