Hooghuys Fair Organ In Computer Adventure Game
By David Sharpe

Has anyone else played the computer adventure game, "Dracula:
The Last Sanctuary?"

A band organ plays a very minor role in the adventure. I don't know
these instruments well enough to say whether it is an authentic
representation of a real instrument or not. It has an ornate slightly
bowed front with winged cherubs at the top, drums showing in holes in
the two side wings, and several ranks of pipes in the central opening.

There are brass trumpets and piccolo pipes with acorn stoppers among
others. The name on the front is not very clear but my best guess is
"L. Hooghuys Grammont". Was there a builder with a name anything like
this? [Yes, and famous, too! -- Robbie]

The adventurer must pick up some folded music and insert it into the
organ. Unfortunately the organ does not play anything resembling band
organ music. Instead it offers a fairly soft bit of classical organ
music of the 'Phantom of the Opera' type.
