Instrument Collection near Berlin, Illinois
By Karl Petersen

I was told that on the road between Springfield and Jacksonville,
Illinois, there is a blue metal building on the south side of the
road which houses or housed a collection of automatic instruments.

Having driven both the slightly northern path which goes through
Berlin, and the slightly southern path which goes through New Berlin,
I have only found a truck maintenance shed in which I would not store
my accumulation of dead players.

Can anyone recall this collection?

Karl Petersen
Rushville, Illinois, about 40 miles WNW of Berlin.

Of course, this could be another instance of the time I lived in Boise,
Idaho, and my co-worker told me that on the next street crossing mine
there was a big house with a three-car garage which housed a couple of
steam cars. Searching produced no leads. Within two years just such
a garage was built on that street, within 100 yards of my place, and
in another year two steam cars lived there...
