Edison Music Box - Hah!
By Matthew Caulfield

In yesterday's MMD I wrote, in regard to a non-subscriber's claim to
own one of 10 music boxes made by Thomas A. Edison:

Well, forget it! I am sure now that what the lady owns is not a music
box (i.e. musical box) but a box (i.e. cabinet), perhaps made by or for
Edison, for holding gramophone records.

If you define a music box as a container for holding music, my cellar
is full of music boxes. I am getting ready to box and sell a cutting
of Wurlitzer style 165 band organ rolls that Play-Rite is supposed to
deliver to me any day now. With every roll you buy, you get a free
music box!
