In the early 1950's our church decided to replace their "old" 1914
Casevant organ because it was in need of major repairs.  It was
given to another church in need, who promptly set up a fund for its
restoration and installation.

Our church purchased a new electronic organ at a cost of
$125,000.00.  Within a year problems began.  I remember enormous
trays of vacuum tubes that overheated and burned out.  Over ten
years, repairs to the new electronic marvel exceeded $200,000.00!
Eventually the electronic organ was removed and scrapped.

Today the "old" Casevant organ is still playing and has gained in
value.  What does this tell us?
