As Bill Griswold has updated my last siting of the 146B Wurlitzer
organ at Six Flags New England, I say that the highest use for this
instrument is that it perform as it was intended, which is to furnish
music for the resident carousel of this park.  When it was operating
at Coney Island and Salem Willows, it was maintained by the legendary
(and, I hope) still active Max Nowicki Jr., whose father was an
original band organ technician under the jurisdiction of Farny
Wurlitzer in Tonawanda, NY.

To the extent that many would like to "get their hands on it", the
days of seizing upon amusement park band organs, which was such an
avaricious pursuit in the 1970s, if I may say so, (no offense to Bill,
with due respect, please), is, I hope, somewhat a thing of the past.
I should hope that this organ will be put back into its originally
intended service; that being the provision of the "only correct music",
as Wurlitzer phrased it, on this very fine carousel.
