Cakewalk for Editing Piano Performances
By J. B. Roth

Greetings all. In response to the article "Cakewalk Music Creator
2002, Free" by Tom Lear in the Mechanical Music Digest (03.01.17),
I would like to tell you all just how much I have enjoyed the Cakewalk
program's piano roll mode for composing, arranging and correcting
errors in MIDI files.

It's like working on a sideways (from left to right) piano roll with
the bass notes on the bottom and the treble notes up top. I recommend
it highly for that feature alone if you are really into doing your own
piano rolls and composing your own music.

I think there are people who have machines that can punch out piano
rolls from MIDI files. I think that QRS can do it.

Regards,
Ben Roth
