Regulating the Piano Action

The hammer stroke is almost always 1-7/8".  The hammer rail is shimmed
to provide this distance.  The thing to do is to follow the Reblitz or
other regulating directions carefully, beginning with key height, key
dip, leveling keys and regulating the action with the keys in.

There are a number of books on the subject and most of them have it
right.
