Larry Sitsky, Head of the Composition Department of the Canberra School
of Music, under the aegis of the Australian National University is a
gifted educator, performer, author and specialist about the music of
Anton Rubinstein and Ferruccio Busoni.

He is anxious to locate the DUCA rolls recorded by Busoni with his
favorite pupil (4-hands) as follows:

1160 SCHUBERT - Marche caracteristique, Op. 121

This is part of a project to locate and record all the rolls made
for this company by Busoni, some of which have been found in Europe.
However, none of the above have surfaced, and information is sought
by this organization (Reproducing Piano Roll Foundation) as to any
connection to this artist, which may have been established in the form
of a Society or Museum to preserve his artistry as reflected in his
many recordings.  We would also like to know of any collector who has
any of the Busoni solo or these 4-hands rolls.

Charles Davis Smith's Duo-Art rollography gives fragmentary detail
as follows:

  Michael von Zadora was born in New York City, in 1882, of Italian
  and German forebears.  He studied the pianoforte with his father
  at the Paris Conservatoire, with Leschetizky, and later with Busoni
  in Berlin, where he elected to make his home and where he won
  considerable reputation both as a concert pianist and as a teacher.

  He spent a season in New York a few years ago as head of the piano
  department of the Institute of Musical Art (now the Juilliard
  School).  His Duo-Art rolls were published in the earliest years of
  the company, probably derived from hand-played issues, as was the
  case with the first couple of hundred rolls released by Aeolian in
  1914/15.  He is listed elsewhere as having been born in Brooklyn.
