Unknown Capitol A-roll
By Robbie Rhodes

Tune #1 is "Come On, Baby!", by Archie Gottler, Sidney Clare and
Maceo Pinkard, 1928. It's sung with great elan by blue-eyed pianist
Frederick Hodges of Royal Society Jazz Orchestra, Stomp Off CD1250.

So what's tune number 2 sound like? :-)

[ Today Ed placed snippets of all 10 tunes at his web page. Visit
[ http://www.edgaida.com/capitol.html and listen to MIDI file
 [ http://edgaida.com/capmidi.mid (186 kb). I'm sure I've heard
[ some of the unknown tunes on other 10-tune rolls. The last tune,
[ number 10, is nifty -- it's some sort of "heroic overture" in 2/4
[ and 6/8 meter, but always with "That Capitol Sound"! -- Robbie
