Geentroep
By Randolph Herr

Dear Robbie and Jody: Thanks for putting that strange word "geentroep"
after people's email address to prevent spam robots from collecting
information. My question is where did this word "geentroep" come from?
Wouldn't simply adding a character or two invalidate addresses?
Thanks

Randolph Herr

[ Originally Jody appended ".nospam", but so did lots of other folks,
[ and so pretty quickly that simple ploy was recognised by the email
[ address harvesters. Hans van Oost suggested "geentroep", which is
[ Dutch for "no junk". We don't really know how effective the
[ appendage is; it doesn't take much computer brainpower to recognize
[ ".com" following @ and extract a valid email address. -- Robbie
