Piano Rolls With Square Drive Hole in Flange
By Tom Hawthorn

Hello, I recently bought a collection of rolls from an estate.
Many of them are the Apollo Concert Grand rolls made by QRS. These
are 15-1/4" wide and are an 88-note scale, with wooden spool ends and
a 1/4" square drive hole on the right side.

Along with these rolls are a number of QRS rolls that are only 10-1/2"
wide, yet they have the same spool ends and drive hole, as well as the
same number of perforations per inch as the Apollo rolls. They even
have similar labels and boxes, but the labels state nothing beyond the
QRS identification. The roll numbers are all in the range of 1000 to
3000.

I want to put this collection up for sale, but first I need to know
just what system these small QRS rolls are made for. Although I am a
member of AMICA, I am not an active reader of MMD, so I would greatly
appreciate anyone with any knowledge of these rolls to contact me
directly at <tom@thoseoldrecords.com>. Any and all help would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom Hawthorn
