Replacing Black Keytops
By Steve Gold

I recently purchased a 1906 vintage piano; Heine is the maker as far
as I can tell. This site (MMD) has been a great source of information
with regard to repairing the ivory keytops, but I also need to do
something with the sharps.

They appear to be wood with a plastic paint on top. Several of the
sharps are gouged and chipped so I think I would like to replace the
whole lot with real wood since I'm going through the effort to repair
the ivories. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Thanks,
Steve Gold
