Tuning of Symphonion Style 25C Musical Box
By Janos Macsai

Good morning everybody, I hope somebody can help me:

I've restored a Symphonion "Roccocco" music box for a museum
in Budapest, Hungary. Here are all the data I know about it:

"Schutz Marke Made in Germany (Leipzig) DRP patented, Brevete S.G.D.G."

The plate diameter is 30 cm [11-3/4"]. I found only one number on it:
379906. It has two combs: there are 42 notes and two numbers on each:
"H 26, H314"

The two combs are placed in front of each other in one row. The
tuning of the combs is not chromatic or simple diatonic scale, but
is a complicated system -- some kind of b-major or -minor scale.

Can anybody explain to me the precise tuning system of these 2x42
combs?

Thank you very much!
